FC Student Places Third in District Rotary Club Essay Contest

Falls Church Rotary Club student Maggie Bellaschi (left), from Cooper Middle School, won third place in the Rotary district essay competition earlier this month. Bellaschi is shown in the photo above with the club’s outgoing president, Diane Hill (right), who presented her with the $250 third place award and certificate at the Harvest Moon Restaurant on July 10. Maggie’s essay competed against winning essays from Rotary Clubs throughout northern Virginia on the topic of Rotary’s Four-Way Test. The Rotary Four Way Test states, “Of  the things we think, say or do: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
