Falls Church City Public Schools (FCCPS) Food Services were one of three winning school divisions in the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) Food for Thought competition over the summer.

FCCPS Food Services and their director, Richard Kane, won for the Healthy School Meal category and were congratulated by the Falls Church School Board and School Board chairman Susan Kearney on Tuesday. They were also recognized by Virginia First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe at the VSBA Conference on Education in Richmond.

Isle of Wright County Public Schools and Cumberland County Public Schools were the other winners of the competition. The competition was created in 2012 to educate, engage and empower school leaders to provide more nutritious school meals to students and address childhood hunger.
