Urban Land Institute Forum in F.C. Thursday

A two-day field trip to carefully review the land in question and to interview key citizens in Falls Church has been held by representatives of Washington, D.C.’s prestigious Urban Land Institute Wednesday and Thursday, and will wrap up with a public forum to present their findings at the Hilton Garden Inn on W. Broad at 5 p.m. tomorrow. The group was retained by the City of Falls Church to examine the “high and best use” options for the 39 acres that were brought within the F.C. City limits as part of the deal for the City’s sale of its water system to Fairfax County earlier this year.

They will mull both the best use of the land for the schools there now, the George Mason High School and Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School, and for the portion of the land nearest the West Falls Church Metro station.
