Two Candidates for the State Central Committee to Speak to FCCRC

Two candidates for the Republican Party of Virginia’s State Central Committee will speak to members and guests of the Falls Church City Republican Committee at its monthly meeting this Thursday, Jan. 15, at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at American Legion Post 130, located at 400 N. Oak St., Falls Church.

For some time, Falls Church Republicans have supported primary elections to select candidates for Virginia offices. Last year, Falls Church City Republican Committee members drafted and approved a recommendation to the Republican Party of Virginia to select candidates through open primaries instead of conventions.

At Thursday’s meeting, a member of the Falls Church City Republican Committee plans to introduce a motion to require chairman Ken Feltman, or any proxy, to vote only for State Central Committee candidates who favor primaries, according to a press release about the meeting.
