The City of Falls Church Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning to citizens to be alert for scams now being undertaken in the region. The scam begins with a phone call, email or posted mail claiming a resident must make a payment to avoid being arrested. “Sheriff’s deputies and police to not call residents asking for money or threatening arrest,” F.C. Sheriff’s Office said. “If someone calls claiming to be from the Sheriff’s Office or Police Department, hang up immediately and do not give any identifying information,” it advised.
