Mason District Supervisor Penny Gross has run an aggressive campaign this fall in pursuit of a sixth four year term. The Democrat is being challenged by independent Mollie Loeffler who has the endorsement of former Republican congressman and Mason District Supervisor Tom Davis and the Fairfax GOP.
“I love my job and I am working hard to keep it,” Gross said. “I and my supporters have knocked on 55,000 doors in the last year, and we are finding amazing support,” she said. Programs to better certify the workforce at the high school and community college levels are among her priorities.
Loeffler, who appeared with Gross at a Mason District League of Women Voters event at the Wilson School last week, says “I will bring fresh ideas and a new perspective to the Mason District. We need to grow our business districts, apply fiscal responsibility to new development and take better care of our schools.” The election is next Tuesday.
