Arlington Philharmonic’s Crescendo Holds Inaugural Concert

Crescendo, the Arlington Philharmonic’s new youth chamber music program, is holding its inaugural concert on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 4 p.m.  at the Rosslyn Spectrum Theater, located at 1611 N. Kent St., Arlington.

Made up of dedicated students in grades 8 – 12 who are selected by audition, Crescendo musicians rehearse weekly and receive instruction and coaching in chamber music techniques from professional musicians.

The inaugural concert will feature two small ensembles. A bass quintet will perform a piece by the composer George Onslow and a string quartet will showcase a Beethoven selection. Additionally, all nine youth musicians will combine to play a number of holiday tunes.

Admission to the concert is free, but goodwill donations will be accepted. For more information, visit arlingtonphilharmonic.org.
