College Tuition Reported Stolen in F.C. Purse Theft

A woman allegedly stole a purse containing a large sum of cash from the Dunkin Donuts store at 6138 Arlington Blvd., Falls Church on Sunday, Jan. 10 around 11:50 a.m., according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

The victim, a 51-year-old woman, and her 18-year-old daughter were in the store, where they stopped for breakfast before heading of to the daughter’s university out of state. Shorty after leaving the store, the victim realized that she left her purse on the back of a chair in the store. When they returned to the store, the purse was missing.

According to the police report, the purse contained cash intended for the daughter’s college tuition. Video from the store showed another woman remove the purse from the chair, leave the store and get into a dark-colored SUV.

The suspect was described as white, between 30 and 40 years old and about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build. She had long, brown hair and wore a light-colored jacket and dark-colored pants. The vehicle is believed to be a 2009 to 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor.
