City Prepares for 4th of July Celebration at Mason HS

The City of Falls Church is sponsoring its annual Independence Day celebration, which takes places on Monday, July 4 starting at 7 p.m. with live musical performances at George Mason High School at 7124 Leesburg Pike. There will be a fireworks display at 9:20 p.m.

There will be seating is available at Jack Gambill Athletic Fields or the Northern Virginia Graduate Center Parking Lot. In the event of inclement weather, the event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 5 at the same time and location.

The event is free to the public and blankets and flat-based chairs are allowed for seating on the field. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Alcohol, smoking, glass containers, fireworks and pets are not permitted. Parking will be restricted within City limits near Mason so that emergency vehicles can use residential streets.

On July 4, from 6 – 9 p.m., the following streets will have parking restricted to one side of the street only: Grove Avenue, Birch Street, Spruce Street, Offut Drive and Falls Avenue. For more information, visit fallschurchva.gov/Fireworks.
