Local Organization Seeks Volunteers for Fall Programs

by SeoJin Ahn

The National Korean American Service & Education Consortium, who has an office at 7006 Evergreen Ct., Annandale, is recruiting volunteers of all ages for their non-partisan civic engagement volunteer program. They hope to build a strong base of youth volunteers that are supplemented by multi-generational adult supporters to uplift the voices of Asian American and Pacific Islander community members in Northern Virginia.

The Community Action Project is an after-school program for high school students to learn about issues that impact the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities as well as develop leadership qualities and organization skills to direct community management.

Students who fully participate in the program will be awarded service hours and potentially be eligible for the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Applications are accepted until Sunday, Sept. 11. For more information, visit nakasec.org.
