Henderson Teams Compete at Lego League Tournament

Two teams from Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School – The Herobots and The Brick Eagles – competed in the FIRST Lego League regional tournament earlier this month. The Brick Eagles, made up of seven 8th graders, earned first place in the Project Presentation category.

Their project focused helping to preserve bats from extinction due to the effects of White Nose Syndrome by building bat houses and heating them with solar power. The team members are Emmy Reitinger, Anuragi Thapliya, Sam Swetnam, Finn Driggers, Brian Janicki, Luke Reitinger and Josh Reitenger.

Almost a dozen Mason students volunteered as judges and workers to help run the tournament. For more information, visit firstinspires.org/robotics/fll.
