NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The City Council will hold public hearings at 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, on Monday, August 14, 2017 to consider the following items:
CAPITAL BIKESHARE EXPANSION
The City will conduct a public hearing on the proposed station locations for the Capital Bikeshare Expansion Project during the City Council’s regularly scheduled August 14, 2017 meeting. The proposed project would install between 10 and 16 Capital Bikeshare stations throughout and adjacent to the City of Falls Church. Project schedule information will be discussed at the public hearing.

Volunteers who live in the City of Falls Church are needed to serve on the boards and commissions listed below. Contact the City Clerk’s Office (703-248-5014, , or ) for an application form or more information. Positions advertised for more than one month may be filled during each subsequent month.
Architectural Advisory Board (alternate)
The Library Board provides general supervision of the public library, establishes policies, and issues necessary regulations for the governance of the library. The Board gives guidance to the Library Director in the preparation of the budget and advises the City Council and the City Manager. The Library Board holds regular meetings once a month, generally on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the library’s Conference Room.
The Board of Equalization (BOE) is an independent body appointed by the Circuit Court and charged with determining whether the Office of Real Estate Assessment has equalized the assessments among property owners. Upon its review, the BOE has the power to increase, decrease, or keep the same assessment. BOE members undergo state mandated training prior to voting in meetings. Members can expect to attend an organizational meeting each year to elect a Chair and Secretary and select meeting dates for hearings. The number of meetings is dependent on the number of appeals received. Meetings are Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6pm and can run up to 3 hours. Professional members of the accounting, legal, and real estate community are encouraged to apply – the board requires three members from these fields.
