Washington Saxophone Quartet Plays at Saint Francis

If any locals have ever listened to National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered,” then they’ve heard the Washington Saxophone Quartet in the transition music. This Washington institution is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a new recording centered on “Baroque and before” music and a brand-new composition by Shenandoah University composer Thomas Albert in conjuction with Amadeus Concerts on Sunday, March 10 at 4 p.m. at the Saint Francis Episcopal Church (9220 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls).

Tickets are $40 and may be purchased at the door or online at amadeusconcerts.com. Students 17 and under and active military are admitted free of charge.

A pre-concert lecture by Music Director A. Scott Wood will begin at 3:15 p.m., 45 minutes prior to the start of the concert.

A reception will follow the concert, at which attendees may meet and chat with the performers and fellow concert goers.
